At Cornerstone International School., safety is our top priority. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all our students and staff.
FIRE HAZARDS
We understand how important it is to have a safe and secure environment for our students to learn in. All of our buildings are equipped with the latest safety features, including clearly identified exits, signage, and safe assembly points. We have also installed efficient fire extinguishing systems in strategic locations throughout each building and have implemented fire drills to teach our students what to do incase of an emergency. Our staff members are trained to handle hazardous situations that may arise and are adept at utilizing the equipment needed to ensure the safety of our students. Additionally, all stairs and exits have been designed with safety considerations in mind, so that our school remains a safe and secure place.
Medical ............Accidents
Cornerstone is committed to providing a safe and healthy learning environment for all of our students. Our sick bay is equipped with comfortable beds and fully stocked with over the counter medications for any minor medical needs.
We understand accidents and emergencies do happen, which is why our registered school nurse is always present during school hours and is readily available to attend to any student needs. In addition, we have established strategic partnerships with a local hospital and pharmacy to ensure that urgent medical needs are addressed promptly.
Empowering Students to Stand Up Against Hate
At Cornerstone, we believe in creating an inclusive environment where every student regardless of race, religion, and gender; feels safe and welcome. We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, hate, fighting and discrimination. We are a Christian school that values respect, kindness, and compassion. As such, any form of bullying or discrimination will not be tolerated, and may result in suspension or expulsion from our school.

If you or someone you know has experienced bullying or discrimination, we urge you to report it to our teachers, school management, or counsellor. We take every report seriously and will investigate all incidents thoroughly. We will work with all parties involved to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all of our students. We have also set-up effective strategic partnerships with mental health organization and NGO's to teach our students the importance of taking their physical health aswell as their mental health seriously.
Preparation for public health incidents
The pandemic has shown us how important it is to prepare and be ready for public health incidents. At Cornerstone, we understand the importance of preparing for other public health incidents such as COVID-19. We want to ensure that our school is ready in case a situation arises so we have taken steps to ensure that our school is well-equipped to handle any situation that may arise. We have installed sinks at strategic areas in the school and have sanitizers readily available for everyone to use. We closely monitor guidance from the Ministry of Health to ensure that we are up-to-date on their recommendations and protocols. We encourage all of our students, parents, and staff to stay informed and to do their part in preventing the spread of illness.
